On August 24th, an essential active shooter training session took place at Juniata Elementary, involving the cooperation of various vital departments. While it's a scenario we fervently hope to never encounter, the readiness and collaboration exhibited by MHC and surrounding departments are crucial in preparing for the unthinkable.
Participating in the drill were multiple PSP agencies, alongside police departments from Juniata/Mifflin Counties and Sheriff Departments from the same regions. Additionally, Juniata/Mifflin Co 911 and EMA, as well as Fire Departments including Mifflintown Hose Co #1, Friendship Fire Company No. 1, East Waterford Fire Company, and Richfield Fire Company 9, lent their expertise.
The involvement of EMS departments, such as Port Royal EMS, Fayette Township EMS, Inc., Richfield EMS, CJEMS, Life Flight, and Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital, underscored the comprehensive approach taken in ensuring the safety and well-being of the community.
This collaborative effort reflects a commitment to preparedness and coordination in the face of potential crises, emphasizing the importance of proactive measures in safeguarding our schools and communities.
